Matt Joiner

Hi everyone, I’m Matt and I’m the one who hits things. 

I’ve actually been hitting things for quite a while - well over 10 years in fact! Drumming has been my main passion for over half of my life, and I will be honest, it all started due to my Dad’s love for Iron Maiden. When I was 10, his love became mine too, and I fell headfirst down the heavy metal rabbit hole. One day, we were watching Iron Maiden: Rock in Rio, a live concert film from the early 2000s. Every time I saw the drumcam, with Nicko absolutely slamming heads, I realised more and more that I really wanted to play the drums. 

My biggest inspiration, therefore, is obviously Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden, but there are so many drummers that I love so much - Joey Jordison, Matt Garstka, Benny Greb, John Bonham, and Craig

Reynolds (essentially every drummer ever except Lars Ulrich).

I want my music to be something that everyone can resonate with. I wanna see kids headbanging to the shit we write, and I wanna see people laughing, crying and vibing so hard every time we play. 

My favourite album ever is This Place Will Become Your Tomb by Sleep Token, but my fun fact is that I’m secretly like the biggest Chappell Roan fan on the planet (don’t tell anyone)
